I neglected my blog! and I apologize for that,there is no excuse it's just called lazy. I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving. We had a very relaxing holiday.
I really enjoy Autumn; I think it's my favorite season
And I think my nephew shares my love for the season also.

It's truly an amazing store. Filled with the most unusual objects, it's hard for me to try to explain so let me show you some of the things in this store.
Well it's my hope that these photos have peeked your interest, and you will check out Curio Emporium. It's an amazing store here in South Pasadena.
One of my favorite traditions is Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) . It's something I was not brought up with, but something I've grown to love. The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to remember friends and family members who have died.
The celebration takes place on November 1st and 2nd, which corresponds to the Catholic All Saints' Day (Nov 1) and All Souls' Day (Nov 2).
I love how colorful and festive this celebration is .

The power of words
I always considered myself as a member of this population and it's comforting and empowering to have someone like Steve Jobs to acknowledge us all . Thank you Steve .
A couple of nights ago I made a fabulous dinner for my honey. Now Paul is an amazing cook and baker impressing him is quite a feat, But I did it! The magic all began when I took these lovelies from the garden.....
and turned them into this!!
How the magic happened:
I just cooked whole wheat spaghetti. In a separate saute pan put olive oil, chopped tomatoes, crushed garlic, salt to taste and a cut up seeded chili of your choose (I used an Anaheim chili). Saute on medium heat for about 4mins until the tomatoes start to break down, remove from heat.
When the pasta is done add it right to the saute pan, and return to heat. Toss and plate. Add fresh chopped basil, parmesan cheese and goat cheese. I finish it off with a light drizzle of olive oil.
It's so easy, fast and always good.

A small homage to Frida Kahlo. I find her imagery and what it conveys evocative, universal, and truly personal. An amazing influence on my art.
That quote was a perfect find for my Mona Lisa collage.
I love to paint, and I enjoy mixed media art. but drawing and sketching will always be my first love. My father was the one who encouraged me. Avery talented artist in his own right.
